JACKSONVILLE, Fla. --
Two firefighters checking to see if anyone was inside a blazing northwest Jacksonville home received minor injuries.
Neighbors in the 1600 block of Oakhurst Avenue saw smoke and flames about 8:30 a.m. Wednesday and called 911.
"The first unit arriving ... reported not only heavy smoke showing, but flames already through the roof," Jacksonville Fire-Rescue Tom Francis said. "The good news is nobody was home at the time."
About 45 minutes after the firefighters arrived, the fire was under control, but the home was a total loss.
Francis said the woman who lived at the home had left for work.
