Florida's First Green Firehouse Opening In Orlando

The station was designed as part of Dyer's "Green Works Orlando" program.

ORLANDO, Fla. --

Florida's first green fire station opened in Orlando Tuesday morning at 10:00am. Mayor Buddy Dyer officially opened Fire Station #7 on Goldwyn Avenue (see map) in the Washington Shores area.

The 10,500 square feet state-of-the-art facility meets national standards for energy efficient buildings and will house engine, tower, rescue and air trucks with Advance Life Support capabilities.

The station was designed as part of Dyer's "Green Works Orlando" program.
