SAN ANTONIO --
A New Berlin volunteer firefighter was in intensive care Wednesday night after he suffered a seizure in the line of duty.
Justin Burton, 37, apparently suffered the seizure as he was pulling up to a fire scene, fire officials said.
Burton lost consciousness and that's when fellow firefighters gave him CPR.
"It hits us all real hard," said Lt. Scott McKinzie of the New Berlin Volunteer Fire Department. "It affects us more than a regular patient that we're doing CPR for. If it's a fellow firefighter, it's a brother, it's family to us."
Burton is hospitalized at University Hospital.
