San Jose firefighters controlled a two-alarm fire Tuesday morning that sent three people to the hospital, according to the Fire Department.
The fire was reported around 3:15 a.m. in the 1100 block of Miller Avenue and took the crews two hours to control, a fire dispatcher said.
Three people and a dog were trapped inside the house until firefighters arrived and helped them, a dispatcher said.
A man and a woman who live at the house were rescued and the third person was a neighbor who tried to help them escape, reported NBC Bay Area's Bob Redell.
The extent of their injuries and the cause of the fire were unknown.
The house fire comes as National Fire Prevention Week kicks off.
