CHESTER COUNTY, Pa. --

Investigators still don't know the cause of a weekend house fire in Coatesville, Chester County, that killed three children.

The fire started shortly before midnight Saturday in a home on North Second Avenue, Coatesville police said.

Five people were trapped on the roof and in the home.

Firefighters rescued two adults, but three children, 11-year-old Brian Westmoreland, 4-year-old Tyrone Hill, and 3-year-old Tyzhier Hill, died.

"Little kids just gone like that you know," said Mai-Ling Middleton, who knew the family. "It's hard because they were innocent kids."

"When I heard Brian died, I was really sad," said Tyrel Bladen, a friend of one of the victims.

There's no word whether the home had working smoke detectors.
