Blaze Erupts at Florida Energy Plant

There are hazardous materials inside the building.

A six-story building is on fire on South Alafaya Trial near state Road 528 and 417.

The fire at the Stanton Energy Plant south of the Stoneybrook Golf Course is active, but firefighters said they have it controlled.

The plant is an Orlando Utilities Commission business, and OUC has accounted for all of its employees, but crews are working to get a count for construction workers.

Fire rescue is treating nine patients on the scene for smoke inhalation and difficulty breathing.
