BALTIMORE --

A fire in a South Baltimore rowhome has left a woman dead and a firefighter injured.

Fire investigators said the blaze broke out around 7:30 a.m. Sunday in the 2800 block of Booker T. Drive in Cherry Hill.

It's believed the fire started in the kitchen. Fire officials said the woman was found unresponsive inside the home. She was treated at the scene and and then rushed to Harbor Hospital.

The firefighter suffered what is believed to be a minor injury back injury and taken to Mercy Medical Center. The fire was largely contained to the kitchen, but there was heavy smoke throughout the house.

Investigators are trying to determine the cause of the fire.
