Georgetown Fire Chief James Kron dies
James "Jim" Kron, chief of the Georgetown Township Fire Department and longtime New Albany firefighter, died Sunday at age 66.
Floyd County Sheriff's Department Capt. Jeff Topping said Kron worked with the New Albany Fire Department from 1964 until 2007 and held every position there except chief. He retired as a major.
