Powhatan Virginia Crews Rescue Trapped Motorist

Rain had been falling for four days straight in Virginia and MVAs were a regular event on the slick roads.

On April 7, tones sounded at 0801 hours for a multi-vehicle collision in Powhatan.

Dispatched were: Engines 2, 1, Rescue 2, Powhatan Ambulance, Powhatan Deputies and the Virginia State Police.

The location was Rt 60 at Judes Ferry Road reports said victim possibly trapped.

Engine 2 arrived on scene to find a vehicle on top of another and confirmed a victim trapped. A total of three vehicles were involved.

Firefighters did assessments and quickly began stablizing the vehicles with cribbing. A handline was stretched in case fire erupted.

A rapid extrication was performed.

Three people had sustained injuries and were transported to a local hospital.

Cause is under investigation.
