HOUSTON --

A man died when his southwest Houston home caught fire early Sunday, KPRC Local 2 reported.

The man's home on Braewick Drive near Grape Street went up in flames at about 1 a.m.

Firefighters found heavy smoke coming from the home when they arrived. Crews said they had trouble going into the home because it was filled with clutter. They were unable to open the door and had to go in through a window.

Firefighters were not able to search the home because it was too dangerous.

The man's body was found after the flames were extinguished. His name was not released.

The home was destroyed.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
