CEDARBURG, Wis. --
An oven caught on fire and spread into the ventilation system and then the roof at a Cedarburg company Tuesday morning.
Fire crews were called to Format Containers Inc., located near Pioneer and Cardinal Avenue, at 9:47 a.m.
When fire crews arrived there was smoke inside the building and smoke could also be seen from the roof.
The company uses a 40- to 50-foot-long oven to dry paper mache planters. That is what caught on fire, according to the Cedarburg fire chief.
The fire was knocked down within 10 to 15 minues.
Firefighters had to get on the roof and take off pieces of the roof to make sure the fire was completely out.
No injuries were reported.
The gas and power was shut off to that particular line to the oven.
No damage estimate has been determined yet.
