DENVER --
An overnight fire at a Howard Johnson on Federal Boulevard at Interstate 70 sent 11 to 12 people to area hospitals with smoke inhalation.
The first call of trouble came at 1:27 a.m. and firefighters found fire in multiple locations.
Several people had to jump from balconies to escape the fire and smoke.
The fire was extinguished by 2 a.m.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
