Two Critical After Jacksonville House Fire

Two people rescued from a burning Westside home just after 12:30 a.m. Saturday were hospitalized in critical condition.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. --

Two people rescued from a burning Westside home just after 12:30 a.m. Saturday were hospitalized in critical condition.

Three dogs died in the fire in the 5100 block of Palmer Avenue.

Firefighters described the fire as strong and intense. It took about an hour to get the fire under control.

The names of the victims were not released early Saturday.

Investigators are trying to determine how the fire began.
