Child Dies in Texas Apartment Fire
FORT WORTH, Texas --
A 3-year-old boy died and four people were injured during a two-alarm fire at a Fort Worth apartment complex Friday morning.
A 13-year-old girl baby-sitting two 3-year-olds woke up to fire and managed to get her 3-year-old sister out of the house. She could not make it to the 3-year-old boy because of thick smoke, fire officials said.
The baby sitter suffered burns on her back. Her sister was taken to a hospital for precautionary reasons. There is no information yet about the baby sitter and victim's relationship.
Two adults were treated for minor smoke inhalation.
Firefighters said they arrived at the apartments in the 3800 block of Stalcup Road at about 9 a.m. Officials have not determined the cause of the fire.
