EULESS, Texas --

Dozens of people were displaced after a four-alarm apartment fire in Euless, NBC 5 reported.

The fire broke out at about 8 p.m. in the Bear Creek Villas in the 500 block of E. Harwood. The flames hit the attic of the complex and spread quickly, destroying 16 units, fire officials said.

"Windows started shattering. You could hear windows shattering, floors collapsing," apartment resident Jason Rupp said.

One firefighter suffered minor injuries from a tool he was using to fight the fire, but there were no serious injuries reported, officials said.

Officials said approximately 30 families were displaced by the fire. The Red Cross was on the scene meeting with the displaced families to help them with food, clothing and housing.
