Two Dallas Firefighters Injured Battling Condominium Blaze
Two firefighters were injured Saturday fighting a three-alarm fire at a condominium complex, Dallas Fire Rescue officials said.
The blaze broke out at about 9:14 a.m. at the Fairways at Remington condominiums located in the 17300 block of Campbell Road in far north Dallas.
One firefighter suffered a leg injury and was treated on the scene. The other firefighter suffered a shoulder injury and was transported to a hospital and later released.
One resident was treated and released for minor smoke inhalation.
Fire officials estimated damage totals at $250,000, which includes smoke and fire damage to one unit, and heavy smoke damage to two other units.
Officials said the fire started after a woman fell asleep with candles burning. The woman told fire officials her electricity was disconnected at the time of the fire.
The Red Cross was on the scene of the fire to help three displaced families.
