Man Extricated from California Trash Truck

A garbage collector made a surprising discovery on Tuesday morning in San Diego.

According to officials, the discovery was made at about 5:30 a.m. near the intersection of College Avenue and Canyon Crest Road in the UCSD area.

The operator of the garbage truck was in the process of dumping trash when a homeless man yelled out. Authorities said that the man had been sleeping in a trash bin and had been dumped into the truck.

Firefighters extricated the man from the truck 15 minutes later. Officials said he suffered minor injuries, including a twisted wrist, and was taken to Alvarado Hospital for treatment.
