Officials still haven't said what caused Saturday's afternoon wildfire in Douglas County that burned 214 acres.
According to Lt. Alan Stanton of the Douglas County Sheriff's Office, authorities got the first call about the fire at roughly 10:40 a.m. It broke out just south of Castlewood Canyon State Park.
Seventy firefighters from seven different agencies helped contain the fire nearly five hours later.
The Franktown, Castle Rock, Larkspur, Elizabeth, Cunningham, Littleton, Parker and South Metro fire departments all had crews at this blaze.
No homes or structures were ever threatened. The cooler, damp weather Saturday evening helped firefighters make sure all the hot spots were extinguished.
So far, Colorado has seen more than 40 fires in 2006. Earlier this week, scientists with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration released their spring forecast, saying they predict the drought to continue in eastern Colorado, adding to the fire danger.
