Candle Starts Blaze in Texas Mobile Home

Feb. 10, 2007

El Paso firefighters responded to a blaze at a mobile home Friday morning.

It happened in the 4600 block of Atlas in Northeast El Paso.

A fire chief told KFOX the family living at the home did not have electricity and was using candles for heat and light.

Fire officials said a young girl apparently knocked one of the candles into a trash can, which started the fire.

Flames were limited to the bathroom and firefighters knocked out the fire quickly.

No injuries were reported, but the home is being considered a total loss.
