Fire Breaks Out in Virginia High School

A quick knock down was accomplished. The school was ventilated. No injuries were reported. The fire is under investigation.

The alarm sounded its alert on June 10 around 0800 hours, telling of smoke in the building. Chesterfield's Bravest sprang into action, responding to Clover Hill High School. Upon arrival they discovered a working fire.

Battalion Chief Steve Parrott said the scene upon arrival was smoke in the building, entry into the rooms revealed fire in a mechanical room.

Officials said Engine 7 was first on scene, after initial assessment a full assignment was requested and dispatched.

Responding were: Engine 7, Engine 19, Engine 16, Engine 2, Truck 7, Truck 9, Ambulance 7, TSO and Battalion 4.

Engines 7 and 19 along with Truck 7 and Ambulance 7 staged at the front of the school, ran the supply lines and made entry. Engine 16 and Truck 9 were staged at the rear of the school where Truck 9 performed the roof check and Engine 16 made rear entry. Engine 2 was released and assigned to do a move up fill-in at Station 7. Hydrants were located on school grounds.
