The Miami Department of Fire-Rescue is concerned about the repeated break-in attempts at one of their fire stations.
Police and fire-rescue officials are keeping a close eye on the fire station at 62nd Street and Northeast 1st Avenue.
The latest incident occurred Monday when firefighters from that station were dispatched to a structure fire in the area. As the last fire truck was leaving the station, some firefighters noticed a person trying to pry open a side door. When the fire truck turned around, the person ran off.
According to authorities, it turned out that the call firefighters were responding to was a hoax and that the call was placed from a cellular phone.
Fire-rescue officials said the station has been the site of four break-ins in the past two months.
