Ohio Firefighters Temporarily Run Out of Water

Officials said the location of the home made it difficult to contain the blaze.

Crews fighting a house fire were forced to call in a tanker task force to assist after they ran out of water.

Officials said the location of the home on Jug Run Road made it difficult to contain the blaze. The home was a complete loss.

No one was inside the home when it burst into flames Wednesday afternoon.

Firefighters said the first crew on scene ran out of water and called the tanker task force to the scene. Tankers spread out for close to a mile just to get water from fire hydrants to the home.

The trucks caused a traffic backup along Route 9, but crews said they do whatever is necessary when they are in desperate need of a water supply.

The state fire marshal was heading to the scene Wednesday afternoon to investigate the cause of the blaze.
