Fire Destroys Two Texas Businesses

Chemicals caused explosions.

FORT WORTH, Texas --

Fire investigators are looking over the scene of an fire that destroyed two businesses in Fort Worth overnight Sunday.

Officials said the fire broke out just before midnight in a warehouse on the 9800 block of North Old Decatur Road near Saginaw Boulevard.

Firefighters arrived on the scene and reported that the warehouse, which contained a wood shop and a small arcade, was fully involved. Firefighters also reported hearing several small explosions as they battled the fire.

Officials said several drums of chemicals that caught on fire were believed to be the cause of the explosions.

Investigators are planning to return to the scene after daybreak Monday to determine the cause of the fire and to test the soil for any runoff from the chemicals.

There were no injuries reported.
