TOLEDO-- Three female Toledo firefighters who sued the city over gender discrimination have been placed on paid leave. Sources close to News 11 confirm the employees are off the job while fire administrators conduct an internal investigation.
The women filed a lawsuit in November accusing some Toledo Fire command officers of gender discrimination, retaliation and creating a hostile work environment. Sources say secret recordings are at the heart of the probe.
Each firefighter wants damages in excess of $250,000.
Count on News 11 to follow this case as it develops.
