Firefighters airlifted two women off Diamond Head Crater in separate rescues on Monday.

A 53-year-old woman collapsed on the trail, officials said. Rescuers brought her by helicopter to the field below, where she was transferred to an ambulance.

Paramedics treated her and took her to a nearby hospital in serious condition.

About an hour later, a woman in her 20s was unresponsive when firefighters plucked her off the trail, but she refused to be treated by paramedics.
