Police said a child could be to blame for a three-alarm fire in Carrick.

Investigators think a child playing with matches started the fire on Meredith Street on Tuesday night.

Flames sparked in a mattress in a second floor bedroom.

Everybody got out OK, but officials said the house was a total loss. Officials estimated damages at $49,000.
