Authorities said one person suffered from smoke inhalation after flames tore through a Riverside home.

Firefighters said four people were inside the house in the 5700 block of Mayville Drive when the fire started around 10:30 p.m. Monday.

Investigators said everyone managed to escape the flames safely, but then one person ran back inside to save the pets. That person was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

Fire crews said they are not sure what sparked the flames, but said the fire started in a bedroom.
