Kids Playing With Matches Possibly Spark Florida Fire

Four apartments were damaged and half a dozen families had to be evacuated.

Fire investigators believe children playing with matches started an apartment fire in Orange County. Now they want to know if the children were unsupervised at the time.

Residents woke up to smoke early Sunday morning at the Woodhollow Apartments near Oakridge and John Young Parkway.

Firefighters said the fire started in the bedroom of the lower unit and spread to the attic. Four apartments were damaged and half a dozen families had to be evacuated.

"We looked outside and the next apartment was in flamers, really bad. When we came out, the building was gone," said resident Jose Diaz.

The Red Cross is helping the families find somewhere to stay.
