Firefighters had to stop a train in order to put out a business fire in southeast Houston Monday morning.
The fire started at a home on Griggs Road near Kenmore Street shortly after 2 a.m.
A train had to be stopped so fire crews could lay a water hose on the tracks to get to a different fire hydrant.
"We had to go across the track in the neighborhood to get another plug. We had a hard time getting our water," Houston Fire Department Chief Dale Lawson said.
The property owner watched his business of more than 30 years burn down.
Authorities said the walls were the only portion of the building left standing once the fire was extinguished.
No injuries were reported.
