A DeKalb County firefighter suffered serious injuries Sunday night when the roof of a burning business collapsed, the Fire Department said.
As of Monday afternoon the firefighter, identified as Capt. David Rogers, 41, a 20-year veteran, remained hospitalized, suffering from extensvie arm injuries.
The firefighter was taken to DeKalb Medical Center.
Firefighters were battling a fire at a business in the 3700 block of East Ponce de Leon Avenue when the roof collapsed, the department said.
The fire broke out at 10:37 p.m. The cause of the blaze and the name of the business were not immediately determined, but the department said a glass-blowing machine was inside the building.
