Louisiana Firefighters Released From Hospital

Officials say firefighters were caught in a flashover.

Three Jefferson Parish firefighters, who were injured in a fire on Monday night, have been released from the hospital.

They were fighting a fire at a home in Metairie located at 17 Englewood Parkway. The house was under renovation.

A spokesperson for the Jefferson Parish Fire Department said the three men were caught in a flash over. A flashover is when a room rapidly bursts into flames.

All three firemen were suffering from burns and smoke inhalation. They were taken to East Jefferson Medical Center for treatment.

The JPFD said its a miracle that all three survived.

The cause of the fire is still not known.
