A warehouse in Kendall went up in flames early Tuesday morning.
Miami-Dade Fire Rescue officials said the blaze started at about 3:30 a.m. at Homestead Roofing Supply on Southwest 134th Avenue.
"Crews found heavy smoke and heavy heat when they reached the roll-up metal door. They found a lot of fire confined to a rear corner of the structure," Lt. Elkin Sierra said. "The intense heat and smoke made it somewhat difficult. We used about 10 to 12 units to get it under control."
Sierra said the fire was fueled by cardboard and wood stacked inside the building. It took firefighters about an hour to extinguish the blaze.
No one was inside at the time and no injuries were reported.
Officials are investigating the cause.
