A fire damaged a motel on the Berlin Turnpike in Meriden on Friday afternoon.

A fire damaged a motel on the Berlin Turnpike in Meriden on Friday afternoon.

It broke out at the Parkway Motel around 2 p.m.

The southbound lanes of the turnpike were shut down for a short time.

There were no injuries. It is unclear what started the blaze.
