Maryland Library Hit by Incendiary Device

HAVRE DE GRACE, Md. --

Deputy state fire marshals are looking for the person responsible for throwing an incendiary device through the window of a Harford County library early Wednesday morning.

Officials said the Havre de Grace branch of the Harford County Public Library at 120 North Union Ave. was hit by the device around 3 a.m. The incident caused about $5,000 in damage.

Firefighters from the Susquehanna Hose Company responded and extinguished the smoldering blaze within minutes. There were no injuries, officials said.

The facility is expected to remain closed for the day.
