CARMEL, Ind. --

Several businesses at a strip mall were expected to be closed on Wednesday after an early-morning fire.

The fire happened just after 1 a.m. near 126th Street and Rangeline Road.

Fire officials said the blaze appeared to have started in a neon sign on the front of AC and Company Hair Designs.

The blaze was contained to that area and did not get into any of the businesses. The fire was doused in a little more than an hour.

Several businesses received smoke damage from the fire. No one was injured.

The fire caused an estimated $50,000.00 in damage to the building.
