Firefighters battled a five-alarm fire at an abandoned warehouse near the Interstate 30-I-45 interchange in south Dallas. More than 100 firefighters responded to the fire.
The fire broke out about 1 p.m. Wednesday at a large warehouse in the 2200 block of Cockrell Avenue at Montgomery Street.
There was evidence inside that people have been using the old warehouse for shelter from the cold, but firefighters said no one was inside at the time the fire broke out.
Some props for NBC's made-for-TV movie "Saving Jessica Lynch," about the first American prisoner of war rescued in Operation: Iraqi Freedom, were stored in the warehouse.
