Oregon Firefighter Killed In Iraq

MOSUL, Iraq -Jeremy Loveless of Gresham was shot and killed in Iraq on Memorial Day.

Loveless, a field medic in the army, was exiting his vehicle when he was shot in the chest.

Jeremy was a volunteer firefighter for the Estacada Fire Department before joining the military. He wanted to become a paramedic and joined the Army to get the specialized training, according to his friend and fellow firefighter, Steve Fritz of the Estacada Fire Department.

Loveless leaves behind his wife, Melissa, of Estacada, and their four-year-old daughter.
