Off-duty D.C. Firefighter Shot during Carjacking

WASHINGTON --

Police are investigating after an off-duty D.C. firefighter was shot during a carjacking.

Police said the firefighter was carjacked at about 3:15 a.m. in the 2300 block of G Street in Northeast.

He was shot in the chest during the incident and taken to a local hospital in stable but serious condition, officials said.

Police said they have found a blue 2007 Chevrolet Avalanche that they had been looking for in connection with the incident.
