Fire Strikes Ohio Farmhouse

Sidney firefighters received mutual aid at the scene from fire departments from Anna, Port Jefferson, Shelby County, and Lockington.

A Saturday afternoon fire heavily damaged a farmhouse south of Sidney at 4400 South County Road 25-A in Shelby County.

The fire was reported to 911 around 2 p.m.

There were no reports of injuries.

Kathy Bowser and her two teenage children, are being housed, clothed and attended to by the Northern Miami Valley Chapter of the American Red Cross. Bowser started smelling smoke, went upstairs to investigate and discovered flames in the attic.

Preliminary reports appear an electrical problem as the cause of the fire, with the blaze ruled accidential.

Damages to the house and contents are estimated at $50,000.
