High-rise drama unfolded after three men working near a water tank on the top of a skyscraper were overcome by fumes Wednesday.
Authorities said two workers resurfacing a water tank on the 58th floor of Liberty Place were sickened by fumes and became confined in the small tank space just before 10 p.m. on Wednesday.
Rescuers squeezed into the space and pulled the two men out before they were taken to a local hospital. They were listed in stable condition.
A maintenance worker who walked in during the debacle also felt the effects of the fumes, but refused medical treatment and walked out of the tank on his own, rescuers said.
Officials did not release the names or ages of the victims.
