Firefighters said the cold weather is becoming a real problem for them.

Fire officials said when the temperatures dip into the teens and single digits, the water the spray on house fires freezes almost immediately.

Investigators said a fire broke out Wednesday night on Basswood Drive in Dayton. Firefighters were able to get enough water to put the fire out.

Officials said the fire caused $20,000 in damage.
