The firefighter scammed five Oakland County Fire Departments out of $67,500, according to officials.

A local firefighter who was supposed to train fellow firefighters and paramedics on saving lives is accused of scamming his own.

Jeffrey Brown scammed five Oakland County Fire Departments out of $67,500, according to officials.

Brown allegedly lied about his state approval for his advanced life support seminars. He scammed his own Warren department, as well as fire departments in Groveland, Oxford, Brandon and Addison townships.

Brown is currently on leave without pay. If convicted, he could face prison time and thousands of dollars in fines.
