A southland firefighter is currently critical condition after suffering a massive, electrical shock climbing down a metal ladder late Friday night.
The accident occurred just before midnight in the 6800 block of Santa Monica Boulevard, NBC4 reported.
Los Angeles Fire Department crews were at a five-story building when the call went out, "Fireman down!"
Investigators said that they couldn't confirm whether the fireman's ladder made contact with a live wire. Power was shut off to the immediate area for about an hour so authorities could investigate, NBC4 reported.
The injured firefighter was taken to Kaiser Permanente Hospital in Hollywood.
