Man Who Interfered with California Crew Gets Probation

His actions slowed firefighters' efforts to quell the flames.

A man who kept firefighters from his burning home was given no prison time on Thursday.

Steven Edward Boyer pleaded guilty to interfering with officers. His home on Alton Way in Escondido caught fire last November. Boyer threatened firefighters when they got there, slowing down their efforts.

Boyer was sentenced to probation and was ordered into a substance abuse treatment program.
