Katrina Evacuees Lose Everything Again in Dallas Fire
A Dallas apartment fire is hitting a family that escaped Hurricane Katrina especially hard.
Fire investigators are trying to figure out what sparked the blaze Wednesday at the Santa Fe Trail Apartments in the 6300 block of Melody Lane.
Everyone got out OK, but one Hurricane Katrina evacuee said she and her family lost everything again.
"My children walked through water, hell and damnation to come out here, and now we burnt down in fire. This is not right," Delores Gray said.
"Everything my daughter lost, and my neice, they have nothing. Half of this y'all gave ... to us," Gray said.
The fire destroyed two units and damaged two others.
Three families were burned out of their homes.
