Fatal Ohio Fire Truck Crash Draws Suit

Feb. 2, 2006
Suit claims firefighter was not trained to operate the engine that struck and killed the woman.

The family of a woman who died after being hit by a Columbus fire truck is now suing the city.

Michelle Dailey, 38, was hit as she crossed Third Street in front of the statehouse in September, NBC 4 reported.

She died from her injuries two weeks later.

The lawsuit claims Dailey was in the crosswalk and that the firefighter was not properly trained to operate the truck.

A city investigation found that the firefighter was not at fault.
