Police and emergency officials were investigating the discovery of a methamphetamine lab in southwest Louisville.
According to officials, fire officials responded to a report of smoke coming from an apartment in the 5200 block of Dixie Highway, near its intersection with Meyers Lane.
When authorities arrived at the scene, smoke was seen coming out of one of the homes windows, and drug-manufacturing paraphernalia was found when firefighters entered the apartment, according to investigators.
Fire officials said they then called Louisville police, but by the time authorities arrived, two men who had been in the apartment had left the scene.
Officials from the Metro Health Department said they will conduct an inspection of the property later Friday afternoon.
No one was injured in the incident, and police said an investigation is ongoing.
