An Orange County fire engine was T-boned by another vehicle Saturday as it responded to a blaze Saturday.

Fire officials said the truck was traveling through the intersection of Hiawassee Road and Old Winter Garden Road when it was hit by the car.

The engine slid and crashed into a telephone pole before landing in a parking lot.

It was the third time in seven days that an Orange County fire vehicle has been involved in a crash while responding to a call, Local 6 reported.

"It is very critical that when you hear that siren that you pay attention, you pull over and look at the light," Orange County fire Asst. Chief Karl Ober said. "These people are in a big fire truck with lights and sirens and they are still getting hit."

The firefighters and the driver of the vehicle were not injured in the crash.

Another fire engine responded to the house fire the truck was originally dispatched to.
