Houston Firefighter Shocked at Blaze

A civilian also was hospitalized.

HOUSTON --

A firefighter was shocked while battling a blaze at a northwest Houston apartment complex on Wednesday, KPRC Local 2 reported.

Houston firefighters responded to the fire at the complex on Hanka Drive near Basking Drive at about 5:30 p.m.

The firefighter was injured shortly after the fire was extinguished. He was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital in good condition.

A civilian was also hospitalized for smoke inhalation after he rescued four children and an adult from one of the units.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
