HOUSTON --
Lightning strikes damaged northwest Harris County homes when storms rolled through the area early Monday, and more severe weather could be on the way, KPRC Local 2 reported.

Jessica Davila, 23, was watching television in her home on Brighton Lake Lane near Cypress Laurel Street when she heard something out of the ordinary at about 1:45 a.m.
"All of a sudden I heard this boom and the house shook," Davila said.
Davila went to her bedroom and discovered the lights and fan were not working. She also found smoke damage around the base of her ceiling fan.
Cy-Fair volunteer firefighters inspected the home and found some burned insulation but nothing that signaled that there had been a fire.
"They said it could have been lightning that hit the house or somewhere near the house," Davila said.
The Davila's house was the second lightning strike that Cy-Fair firefighters responded to during the storm.
A small fire broke out in the attic of a home in the 16500 block of Chalmette Park Street near Greenwood Manor Drive at about 12:20 a.m.
Investigators said there was some minor damage in the attic but the main portion of the house was not damaged.
Another round of severe storms could strike the Houston area Monday afternoon.
"The problem will be for that ride home late in the afternoon," KPRC Local 2 meteorologist Anthony Yanez said.
There is a 40 percent chance of rain starting at about 3 p.m., but the storms are expected to fizzle out after a few hours.
"They start to die as we head toward sunset," Yanez said.
